HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of treatments needed varies widely according to the duration, severity, and nature of the condition. Each person has an individualized treatment plan. No two conditions, or people, respond exactly the same. Acupuncture works cumulatively. Therefore, one or two treatments per week are recommended. Chronic illnesses or injuries may require treatment for several weeks, or longer. Acute problems generally respond much faster and may only need a few treatments.
Acupuncture addresses the underlying cause of disease, illness and injury, not merely the symptoms. When the cause of the problem is corrected, the results are long lasting, and/or permanent.
Once the balance and harmony of energy is re-established within the body and good health is restored, the person may return every few months for treatment. This is usually sufficient for maintaining good health.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING TREATMENT?
Most people enjoy acupuncture and find it very relaxing. Often people are surprised at how comfortable they become during a treatment. They may even fall asleep. Acupuncture needles are made of extremely thin, solid, flexible, surgical stainless steel. The insertion of the acupuncture needle is usually painless. Occasionally a slight sensation may be felt upon entry. Once the needles are in place, the individual should not be aware of any discomfort, but instead they may feel warmth or other mild sensations at the needle site.
