Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been in practice for over 2,500 years, and is the oldest, professionally practiced medicine in the world.  TCM is a whole medical system that is based on the concept of vital energy, or qi, which flows throughout the body.  It is believed that qi regulates one's spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical balance.  TCM focuses on treating the individual as a whole while addressing the root of the problem, as well as the acute symptoms.  Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, massage, meditative exercises such as Tai Chi and Qi Gong, and nutrition are all different dimensions that make up TCM.
